We can all agree that D’Angelo and Prince set the bar when it comes to sexy, smooth jams. Their songs are a go-to for mix CDs and playlists that are all trying to say, “Let’s get naked together.” (Honorable mention: Robin Thicke.) Then there are others like Usher or Justin Timberlake who can certainly turn up the heat but more into producing pop hits instead of diving into the details of R&B, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Having said that, we can’t stop listening to inc., it’s mellow in a sexy way and depending on your state of mind it can either bring you to tears or to text your lover for a booty call. The band is made of two brothers, Andrew and Daniel Aged, who are from L.A. but if they don’t live in their own world they certainly build their own one on the album no world. (They’re the ones who don’t caps lock their band name or album title so we’re going with it.) I give them bonus points for being fearless because judging by their promo photos, they are always ready to go to a rave. Although as long as they make music like this, they can wear wooden barrels for all I care.
The first track on the album, “the place,” whisper sings, “I feel like I’ve been here before / you already know” and now that we know a place like this exists, we won’t be leaving anytime soon.
